What you need to know
- In NSW, government procurement operates under a devolved governance structure. This means each agency is responsible for their own procurement, with the Procurement Board setting the whole-of-government strategic approach.
- If you're new to procurement, we recommend you follow our best practice approach.
- You must keep the NSW Government’s procurement objectives in mind every time you procure.
- You should also you know your agency's procurement accreditation status, as this will impact your ability to buy.
- Construction industry procurements work a little differently to others and it’s important you know some of the key differences.
- You must keep good records at every stage of the procurement to document your decisions and the reasons behind them.
- If you're not a NSW Government agency, you may still be able to use our procurement arrangements. Eligible non-agency buyers include universities, private schools, private hospitals, charities, local councils and other government jurisdictions.
