What you need to know
- You generally must select suppliers based on evaluation criteria. You must also do this within a framework of probity and fairness.
- For goods and services contracts under $250,000, you may be able to buy directly from certain suppliers.
- When you’re selecting a supplier, you have special obligations to SMEs and regional businesses, as well as Aboriginal businesses. You must consider these first for some contracts under $3 million.
- You can also engage Australian Disability Enterprises for contracts of any value based on one written quote.
