New Board Direction PBD- 2023-01 Skills, training, and diversity in construction
This direction, PBD-2023-01, replaces PBD-2020-03 skills, training, and diversity in construction.
PBD-2023-01 applies to all new construction projects from 1 July 2023. It will be mandatory from 1 September 2023.
The direction introduces new reporting requirements to promote women in trade roles and sets additional targets for the Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program (ISLP) for contracts over $10 million.
Key changes include:
- For construction contracts over $10 million, there’s a new requirement to report the number of women in trade roles and the number of women in non-traditional roles (as defined in the Training Management Guidelines).
- The additional ISLP targets will apply to all new construction projects over $10 million, starting from 1 July 2023.
The core objectives and minimum ISLP targets remain the same.
